Water color Wednesday "Thumbelina"

Thumbelina by Hans Christian Andersen. I've chosen to illustrate the part of the story where Thumbelina is rejected by the cockchafer after he's been convinced by those around him that Thumbelina is ugly although the story tells that she is the most beautiful creature however small in size. The illustration picks up where the cockchafer drops her off on a daisy and takes off leaving her all alone and stranded.

Illustrated with water color and water color pencils on black Strathmore paper.

IF "Canned"

In order to keep up my illustration skills, I joined a group called Illustration Friday. Every week a topic is chosen to illustrate and a group of professional and amateur Graphic Designers and Illustrators contribute their take on the topic.

This weeks topic is "Canned" and I choose to depict how small a person feels when they've been canned or fired.
