Water color Wednesday "Thumbelina"

Thumbelina by Hans Christian Andersen. I've chosen to illustrate the part of the story where Thumbelina is rejected by the cockchafer after he's been convinced by those around him that Thumbelina is ugly although the story tells that she is the most beautiful creature however small in size. The illustration picks up where the cockchafer drops her off on a daisy and takes off leaving her all alone and stranded.

Illustrated with water color and water color pencils on black Strathmore paper.

Leona,
I LOVE this. It is excellent that you also included the text that this illustration goes with. I know of Thumbelina, but realized that I did not know the story at all. I love the composition and the use of suggestion in the imagery. Really wonderful.
